Product activation
Make Windows Server evaluation editions standard
If, like me, you quickly built a new server or VM using the evaluation download from Microsoft, you'll find that when you get the license ( Digital Key ) and try to connect it, it won't work. You simply cannot use a valid Digital Key on an evaluation copy of Windows Server .
But don't worry, the solution is pretty simple. All you have to do is run this command from a high command prompt:
DISM / online / Set-Edition: /ProductKey: XXXXX -XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX / AcceptEula
The edition ID will be ServerStandard , then enter the product ( Digital Key ). The server will run through the image conversion process, then restart twice.
After the server has restarted, you will need to reactivate the server and re-enter ( Digital Key ).
It is important to note that if you used an evaluation edition to build a domain controller, you cannot modify the edition. You will either need to build a new domain controller, or downgrade the domain controller of the evaluation edition, set the version ID, and then promote it again.
It ( Digital key ) can activate ONE windows Eszköz only once. After completing the activation process, you will NOT be able to use the same thing ( Digital key ).
Hard disk formatting will actually erase ( Digital key ). You cannot transfer the license to another computer.
